Strangers in Synchrony | Bushwick, 2023

35mm film photograph

Strangers in Synchrony observes the poetry of pause, capturing both the energy and quiet loneliness of New York City. A canopy of iron rails shelters a crosswalk where strangers carry their private trajectories in public view.

Two figures move side by side in unintended synchrony; unaware of each other’s presence, yet perfectly aligned in motion. They exist within the same sliver of space, cloaked in a kind of urban solitude. In their stride lies the quiet paradox of city life: we are often within arm’s reach of the connection we seek, but rarely notice it.
